Kitako Lake Honey is owned by second generation beekeepers who are dedicated to furthering the practice of beekeeping and producing pure, raw, and unfiltered honey in the process! Located in the Aspen Parkland region of East Central Saskatchewan, they aim to let the principles of sustainability, an attitude of experimentation, and a respect for the natural environment inform the practices through which their products are collected and crafted.
The branding for Kitako Lake was inspired by the natural environment in Saskatchewan paired with the zainy DIY personality of Steven, the owner. We decided to use handwritten type to evoke that DIY feel and paired it with artful illustrations of bees and wildflowers native to the region. We avoided using obvious honey branding colors (yellow and black) to stand out from the rest of the competition.
We are proud to say this is the best selling local honey on the Saskatchewan market, it’s incredible honey, some say they buy it just for the packaging.
